Memory Care
The reality of aging offers us a tender mission: Caring for those with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. We do so with specialized training and a commitment to understanding the specific needs of each resident. Our care begins with building relationships with each person, and with their loved ones.
The Sharon at SouthPark offers memory care in both the assisted living area of the campus and in the newly renovated Weisiger Health Center, which provides nursing care. In the Weisiger Health Center, a variety of furnished accommodations are offered, while assisted living residents furnish their own apartments. Sales Manager Nikki Nelson welcomes the opportunity to share this part of The Sharon at SouthPark with interested families.
Come and appreciate the emphasis on bright and cheery accommodations and common space in the Weisiger Health Center. Dining services in both levels of care include an open floor plan that allows residents who are able to benefit from the fellowship of sharing meals. A spacious living room in Weisiger Health Center overlooks the Wallace Dell, with a terrace that offers fresh air and a quiet place for families to gather. A full-service salon and physical, speech and occupational therapy are available.
Memory care residents also have access to all that The Sharon at SouthPark offers, including the library, walking trails, gardens and game rooms.
The Sharon at SouthPark is the only community in North Carolina accredited by Comfort Matters Dementia Care Education. This program provides additional training for nurses who care for those with memory loss. The program uses the latest in science and research-based practices to help our staff offer the best and most up-to-date care. We treat each memory loss resident as an individual. We do not just see their condition, we see them. We get to know them and get to know what they need to be safe, comfortable and content.
As Nikki, our sales manager, says, “We meet them where they are.”
