On October 22, 2022, dozens of The Sharon at SouthPark residents and staff assembled for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s – Charlotte, NC. The routine of loading food and supplies was as familiar as the ever-present purple shirts. After many years of participating and sponsorship, the preparation runs like a well-oiled machine. And while this level of dedication has become a common occurrence, it doesn’t diminish its importance.
A Cause with Personal Impact
To underscore The Sharon at SouthPark’ commitment to the event and the cause, Director of Vitality & Well-Being Jessica Bourque was tapped to contribute to a recent blog post on the Alzheimer’s Association of North Carolina’s website. In the post, Jessica discusses what this event means to the participants – and why the The Sharon at SouthPark team consistently outraises teams in the area and around the country. The motivations are varied, but each person representing the team has his or her reason. And everyone there knows that their participation has a profound impact in the fight to end Alzheimer’s.
